When glassblowers first sculpt bottles, it often starts as something fun and not too serious. When I began my journey in 2016, I had no idea where it would lead. I started working with borosilicate glass, which is very different from soda lime glass. Over the years, I spent countless hours in my studio, working solo and creating for social media and local customers. I became somewhat of a local figure, setting up my tents, tables, torch, and tanks of fuel and oxygen. Borosilicate glass wasn’t ideal for live performances since it took a long time to showcase and wasn’t as exciting for bystanders to watch. That’s when bottles came into the picture, and selling them is a whole other story I might call “The Courage to Sell Trash.” People loved them, and I made so many that I constantly needed more bottles. I kept creating, realizing people appreciated the craft and the time I invested, especially in making larger bottles. Some bottles I decorate with silver and gold on the necks, giving them aesthetic appeal and a mirror-like effect. Eventually, I decided to go all in—creating a website, joining social platforms, and staying consistent for months on end. With determination and a mindset to never give up, here I am..
